Hi there,

I’ve been working with course creators for years and based on our experience and data we’ve collected over the years, we’ve found 3 funnels that work best for online course creators.

I explained all 3 funnels in the previous email. If you missed it, find it here.

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about the third suggested tactic. That one is: do two email promotions per month.

I’ve seen people double their revenue just by doing two email promotions per month. This works and you should do it.

However, when I explain this, people give me this feedback:
  • If I send two email promotions each month, aren’t I going to be too annoying?
  • But John, people will start unsubscribing.
  • How can I do two promotions per month and not be spammy?
  • Why do I want to piss off my audience with all these promotions?

You might be thinking some of the same things?

There is a way you can do it without being annoying, aggressive, too salesy, or spammy. In fact, you can make these emails even better than your regular content.

The method I am suggesting and using is called teach and tease and I’ll explain it to you now.

The idea is to make those emails charming, friendly, and helpful.

How?

So, let’s say your offer is one of your courses.

We suggest the offer for email promotion to be priced between $79 - $199 (depending on what your target market is).

You should send out 6 emails over 5 days.

You are going to take from the course you’re selling 5 little tips. Useful ideas that people can understand in 5 minutes or less. You teach enough to get people engaged, excited. You may even teach a part of how to do it, but you don’t tell them everything. You tell them you’ll teach the rest in your course.

So, you open the loop in every email, and in order for them to close the loop, they have to buy the course.

You want to make this offer great and special, so you add a discount and scarcity. They can get your amazing course with a 30% discount if they buy it by the end of the week (30% is a good discount for offering through these simple email promotions).

Five out of those 6 emails are very useful and educational. The last one is letting them know that the offer is about to end. You don’t want people to be annoyed that they didn’t buy in time so that last email is important as a useful service.

In the last email, you can add a countdown timer (you can have it on your sales page as well) and make sure they know it’s the last chance to buy your course at that special price.

This Teach & tease method is a great way to do email promotions without annoying people. This is how to promote your offer without people unsubscribing.

Try it, and let me know how it goes :)

If you have any questions or need help, feel free to hit reply. I read and respond to all emails personally.
